PS Bank won a bigger share of Scranton--Wilkes-Barre, its largest market, in 2025 even though it made 9% fewer loans.
In Scranton--Wilkes-Barre, where it has lent since 2006, its share rose to 1.6% from 1.2%, and it ranks 19th of 395 lenders. Rocket Mortgage leads, followed by Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company. Its typical loan rose to $155,000 from $125,000, one reason the dollars it lent rose while its count fell.
It made 221 loans, down from 244, while similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew 9%. The count is far below the 468 of 2020 but close to its levels of 2018 and 2019, when it made 257 and 266.
Purchases made up 62.4% of its loans and home improvement 11.8%. All were conventional. Its typical loan was smaller than the $175,000 at its peers, and manufactured homes took 4.5% of its loans, against 2.6%.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods took 17.2% of its loans, up from 13.9% a year earlier and close to its peers' 17.6%. Majority-minority neighborhoods took 2.3%, up from 0.8%.
