LOC Credit Union makes small loans to people who already own their homes: purchases were only 6.7% of its 490 loans in 2025.
Other-purpose loans made up 42.2% of its lending and home improvement 41.6%. Its typical loan was $75,000, smaller than about nine in ten similar lenders' (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans). All its loans were conventional.
None of its loans were higher-priced (a rate well above the average for similar loans), against 1.8% at peers. Its mix of home-improvement and other-purpose loans may be one reason.
It filed no HMDA report for 2021 or 2022. It reported 30 loans in 2020 and 509 in 2023, and has stayed near that level since. Originations fell 4% in 2025, while peers rose 6% and the whole market 10%.
