GFA Federal Credit Union makes much bigger loans than similar credit unions, and its loan count bounced back by 37% in 2025.
Its typical loan, $195,000, was higher than at nearly nine in ten similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), whose typical loan was $105,000. So although it made 175 loans, near the peer figure of 155, it lent $64.8 million, against $24.8 million.

It has lent in Worcester since 1994 and held a 0.4% share there in both years, ranking 63 of 451. In Manchester-Nashua its share rose 0.1 points, to 0.2%. In Boston it ranked 345 of 664.
