Government-backed lending sets it apart
51.1% of its loans were FHA and 2.1% were VA (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs), where the typical similar lender (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans) made none. 33.2% of its loans were higher-priced (a rate well above the average for similar loans), against 0.3%. Its FHA lending, half its book, and its 6.2% manufactured-home share, against 0.3%, are plausible reasons: both are usually priced above conventional loans.
