Weichert Financial Services is a home-purchase lender: more than nine in ten of its 1,578 loans in 2025 financed a purchase, and its lending grew faster than at most similar non-bank lenders.
Its loans rose 17% in 2025, against 5% at similar lenders (independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans). That is faster growth than at about seven in ten of them. It remains well below its 2020 peak of 5,311 loans. It lends in 39 states, from a base in New Jersey.
Conventional loans made up 85.4% of its lending, against 65.9% at similar lenders. Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) were 8.1%, against 23.0%. Its typical loan, $385,000, was larger than its peers' $315,000. Its typical rate, 6.49%, was below theirs, and only 0.6% of its loans were higher-priced (a rate well above the average for similar loans).
Some 16.0% of its borrowers had low or moderate incomes (LMI), against 28.5% at similar lenders, and 11.7% of its loans were in LMI neighborhoods, against 19.1%. Its larger loans and small FHA share could account for this: FHA loans often serve buyers with lower incomes and smaller down payments.
It ranks 127 of 802 lenders in the New York metro, its largest market, and 38 of 521 in Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, where its share rose from 0.6% to 0.7%.
