Government-backed lending
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up 9.6% of its lending, against none at the typical peer, a state non-member bank making between half and twice as many loans. That is more than at nearly all of them. It also made loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service, 1.5% each.
