A government-backed purchase lender
Purchases made up 95.5% of its loans. Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) were 63.8%, against 22.4% at similar lenders, meaning independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans. Another 7.9% were guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service (RHS), against 0.3% at peers. Its typical loan of $135,000 is lower than at almost all of them.
