No home purchases
Just over half of its loans were for other purposes and a third were for home improvement. The rest were refinances. That makes it a lender to owners rather than buyers.

Our analysis, 2025
The Atlantic Federal Credit Union lends to New Jersey members who already own their homes: none of its 27 loans in 2025 was a home purchase.
Just over half of its loans were for other purposes and a third were for home improvement. The rest were refinances. That makes it a lender to owners rather than buyers.
It first reported its lending in 1991. Since 2018 it has made between 21 and 51 loans a year, with 34 in 2024 and 27 in 2025. Similar lenders are credit unions making between half and twice its number of loans; it made more than about a third of the 321 of them, and the typical one made 31.
Its typical loan was $105,000, near the middle of similar lenders, whose typical loan was $95,000. Every loan was conventional, with no government backing, as at the typical similar lender. With so few loans, its other shares are too small to read much into.
Its lending is spread across seven counties and four metros, all in New Jersey. In the New York-Newark-Jersey City market it ranked 466 of 802 lenders; JPMorgan Chase Bank led. In Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton it ranked 517 of 521.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
