Our analysis, 2025
Skyrock Mortgage, which first reported in 2024, is a young New Jersey home-purchase lender that grew 24% in 2025 and moved into several new markets.
It made 304 loans, up from 245 in its first reported year. Similar lenders (non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans) grew by 6% and the whole market by 10%; it grew faster than about seven in ten of them.
Home purchases made up 77.3% of its lending and refinances the rest. Nearly all its loans, 98.4%, were conventional. Its typical loan was $475,000, against $355,000 at similar lenders. It made no higher-priced loans, those with a rate well above the average for similar loans, and turned down 1.1% of home-purchase applications, against 4.7% at the typical peer.
It lent in 13 metros across eight states. Five of its eight main markets, Baltimore, Hartford and Trenton among them, are ones it entered in 2025. Its highest rank is in Cleveland, 93 of 577 lenders; in the New York metro area it ranked 178 of 802.
Low- and moderate-income neighborhoods took 12.5% of its loans, down from 18.9% in 2024 and lower than at about four in five similar lenders. Its larger loans may point to pricier homes, and its markets shifted as it expanded; either could explain the gap. Its share of lower-income borrowers, 22.0%, was close to the typical 24.6%.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
