Ross Mortgage Company, a Massachusetts lender that mostly finances home purchases, grew its loans by 38% in 2025 while similar lenders shrank.
It made 134 loans, up from 97. Similar lenders, meaning non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans, fell by 10%, so it grew faster than about four in five of them. It remains far smaller than in 2020, when it made 1,706 loans.

Worcester, its largest market, has been on its books since 2005. It ranks 65 of 451 lenders there, and its share edged down from 0.4% to 0.3%. Its lending spans 7 states, so its growth may have come mostly from elsewhere.
