Our analysis, 2025
RANLife, a Utah mortgage company, grew faster than most similar lenders in 2025, and loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up almost half of what it lent.
Its loans rose 31% to 972, against 5% at similar lenders, which are independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans. That was faster than about eight in ten of them. It remains far smaller than in 2020, when it made 3,528 loans; the low point was 590 in 2023.
FHA loans were 47.7% of its lending, against 21.7% at similar lenders, and up from 41.7% a year earlier. Its borrowers were more often of low or moderate income: 32.3%, against 26.9% at similar lenders.
It turned down 0.7% of home-purchase applications, against 3.2% at similar lenders, lower than about nine in ten of them. Its typical rate, 6.38%, was also lower than the 6.62% at similar lenders.
It ranked 20 of 363 lenders in Salt Lake City, with 1.1% of the market, unchanged on the year. Its share rose to 0.6% in Provo but fell to 0.8% from 1.0% in Ogden, where United Wholesale Mortgage led. The Ogden dip may reflect growth placed elsewhere, as it began lending in new markets in 2025.
