Northeast Equitable Mortgage, a Pennsylvania lender to home buyers, grew 25% in 2025 and gained share in several of its markets.
It made 190 loans, up from 152, faster than similar lenders, non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans, which grew 8%. The whole market grew 10%. Its volume is still well below the 469 loans of 2020, but has risen since a low of 120 in 2023.
Its share of Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton rose to 0.4% from 0.2%, where it ranked 57 of 521. It also gained 0.1 points in both Atlantic City-Hammonton and Trenton-Princeton, and entered Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach in 2025.
Purchases made up 94.2% of its lending. Conventional loans were 97.9%, and it made no loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), against 14.0% at similar lenders. Its typical loan was $375,000, against $325,000.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods took 9.5% of its loans, against 18.4% at similar lenders, lower than almost nine in ten. Majority-minority neighborhoods took 3.7%, against 20.3%. Its lack of FHA lending and the markets it serves may account for this. The LMI-neighborhood share was 13.9% in 2024, so it shifts from year to year.
