Lineage Bank, a Tennessee bank that made many government-backed loans in 2024, reported only six home loans in 2025, down from 88 a year earlier and 203 in 2023.
Lineage Bank first reported in 2023, with 203 loans. That fell to 88 in 2024 and to six in 2025, a fall of 93%. Similar lenders (state non-member banks making between a quarter and four times as many loans) shrank 32%. The data do not say why. Similar banks shrank too, so part of the fall may be shared; the rest could reflect a choice to make fewer home loans.
In 2024 nearly half its loans had government backing: 31.8% were insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and 14.8% guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service (RHS). By 2025 every loan was conventional.
All six loans in 2025 were home purchases. Its shares of loans to poorer borrowers and neighborhoods rest on a handful of loans, so they say little about the bank.
The bank lends in five Tennessee counties. In the Nashville market it ranked 377 of 821 lenders, with a share of 0.0%. It took its present name in 2021, when Citizens Bank & Trust Company became Lineage Bank.
