Infinity Equity Group, a Redding, California, mortgage company, grew faster than about nine in ten similar lenders in 2025 and is now the second-largest lender in its home market.
Its loans rose 64% in 2025, from 335 to 551. Similar lenders (non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans) grew 17%, and the whole market 10%. It is still below the 749 loans it made in 2021. It is also spreading out: it now lends in 40 metros across 11 states, and entered Miami, Idaho Falls and non-metro Washington in 2025.
In Redding its share rose 1.4 points to 6.5%, and only United Wholesale Mortgage lends more there. In Reno, its largest market, it ranks 16 of 325 lenders and its share rose 0.4 points to 1.5%; Guild Mortgage Company leads that market.
Home purchases make up 83.8% of its loans. It leans more than its peers on government-backed loans: 21.8% are insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), against 14.6% at similar lenders, and 10.2% are guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), against 4.7%. Manufactured homes account for 3.4% of its loans, more than at most similar lenders.
Its typical rate, 6.62%, is the same as similar lenders'. Higher-priced loans (a rate well above the average for similar loans) fell to 1.3% from 8.4% in 2024, below the 2.5% at similar lenders. It turned down 1.2% of first-lien home-purchase applications, near the middle of similar lenders.
