Homeowners Financial Group USA, a Scottsdale non-bank whose biggest state is Georgia, made about as many loans in 2025 as in 2024, about a third of its lending in 2021.
The firm made 10,704 loans in 2021 and 3,783 in 2025. The fall came between 2021 and 2024; in 2025 its total was flat, while similar lenders (independent non-banks making between half and twice as many loans) typically grew 10%. The figures do not say what drove the earlier fall.
Purchases made up 87.3% of its loans. Its shares of FHA loans (insured by the Federal Housing Administration), at 22.5%, and VA loans (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs), at 7.3%, sat close to those of similar lenders. So did its lending to borrowers with low or moderate incomes, 29.1% against 28.0%.
It turned down 4.0% of home-purchase applications and 6.8% of refinance applications, against 4.2% and 6.7% at similar lenders. Higher-priced loans, with a rate well above the average for similar loans, were 1.9% of its lending, against 2.4%.
Its share of Denver-Aurora-Centennial lending rose from 0.1% to 0.3%. In Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler, its home market since 2010, it slipped from 0.7% to 0.6%, ranking 36 of 879 lenders; that may simply reflect its flat volume in a market that grew. It ranked 46 of 892 in Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta.
