Big loans
No similar lender (independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans) made a larger share of jumbo loans. Its typical loan was $745,000, against $325,000 for them. So although its 285 loans put it near the middle by count, its $279.6 million in loans was more than about nineteen in twenty of them made. The pattern is not new: jumbo loans were 26.9% of its lending five years earlier. Almost all of it is conventional; it made no loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and few insured by the Federal Housing Administration.
