GoPrime Mortgage, a North Carolina non-bank lender that mostly finances home purchases, lends to veterans far more than its rivals do: 38.5% of its 2025 loans were guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), against 6.4% at similar lenders.
Similar lenders here are independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans. GoPrime's VA share is higher than at almost all of them. Loans guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service (RHS) take 3.0% of its book, against 0.3% at its peers, and manufactured homes 7.5%, against 0.9%. Conventional loans, at 43.6%, make up a far smaller part than the 67.8% typical of its peers.
It made 1,460 loans in 2025, up 9%, a little faster than its peers' 5% and close to the whole market's 10%. That is still under a third of the 5,178 it made in 2020. The low point came in 2023, at 1,113. Nine in ten of its loans now finance a purchase.
In Pinehurst-Southern Pines it ranks 9 of 291 lenders, but its share slipped from 4.2% to 3.3%. In Bozeman, far from its North Carolina base, it ranks 13 of 233, with a share that eased from 2.2% to 1.8%. Rivals growing faster in those towns could account for it.
Its typical rate was 6.49%, against 6.62% at its peers, lower than at about four in five of them. Only 1.4% of its loans were higher-priced (a rate well above the average for similar loans), against 2.1% for its peers.
