First Capital Bank is a small Texas lender built around Wichita Falls, making 34 plain conventional loans in 2025, against 36 the year before.
Wichita Falls is its largest market, and the bank has lent there since 2008. It competes with 209 lenders, led by American National Bank & Trust and Flat Branch Mortgage. It first appeared in Abilene in 2023 and in Lubbock in 2025, with too few loans in either to count for much. The bank was First National Bank in Quanah until 2011, when it took its present name.
Its loans fell 6% in 2025. Similar lenders, state member banks making between half and twice as many loans, fell 1%, and the whole market rose 10%. At 34 loans, the drop is too small to read much into. It could reflect nothing more than the timing of a handful of local deals.
Every loan it made was conventional. Like most similar banks, it made none insured by the Federal Housing Administration or guaranteed by the veterans' or rural housing programs. Home purchases were 44.1% of its loans and refinancing 32.4%, with home improvement and other purposes making up the rest.
