Envoy Mortgage, a national purchase lender based in Houston, grew its loans by 42% in 2025, far faster than similar lenders.
Its loans rose to 5,501 from 3,883, a rise of 42%. Similar lenders, independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans, grew 11%, and the whole market 10%. It grew faster than about four in five of them.
Home purchases made up 90.6% of its loans. In most other respects it looks like its peers: loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) were 23.8% against 24.9%, and its typical loan was $325,000 against $315,000. Its share of loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers, 30.0%, sits near the middle.
Its 18,606 loans in 2020 were more than three times this year's count. Volume fell every year to 3,869 in 2023, held flat in 2024 and has only begun to recover.
It lends in 49 states and 268 metros, yet in none of its five largest markets does it rank higher than Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, where it is 80 of 592 with 0.3%. In Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia its share rose to 0.2% from 0.1%. In 2025 it entered Morgantown and non-metro Alaska.
