A buyer more than a maker
Data Mortgage bought 8,577 loans in 2025, up from 7,400 a year earlier and 3,977 five years before. The typical similar lender, an independent non-bank lender making between half and twice as many loans, bought none. Its own lending, at 321 loans, sits near the middle of that group. The business looks built on buying loans that others make.
