Consumers Professional Credit Union, a Michigan credit union that has reported since 1990, made 24 home loans in 2025, about a quarter of the 91 it made in 2018.
Its loans fell 17% in 2025, from 29 to 24, while the whole market grew 10%. Similar lenders, credit unions making between half and twice as many loans, fell by 5%.
