A steep retreat
The decline came in two drops. Loans fell from 341 in 2022 to 86 in 2023, eased to 54 in 2024, then fell to 3. That is a fall of 94% in a year, when similar credit unions, those making between half and twice as many loans, fell by 52% and the whole market grew by 10%. The figures do not say why the credit union all but stopped reporting mortgages.
