Bank of the Orient is a San Francisco lender of million-dollar loans, many of them in majority-minority neighborhoods, and its loans rose 52% in 2025.
Its typical loan was $1.0 million, against $190,000 at similar lenders, here state member banks making between half and twice as many loans. Jumbo loans, those larger than the conforming limit, were 38.9% of its lending against 3.6%. Refinances made up 71.4% of its loans.

Filings of Bank of Honolulu, with which it merged in 2000, count as its own in the competition figures.
