Government-backed lending
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up 27.0% of its lending, and loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 7.6%. The typical similar lender, a non-bank lender making between half and twice as many loans, made only conventional loans. Every one of its loans was for a home purchase.
