A lender to poorer neighborhoods
In 2025, 42.2% of its loans went to low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods, against 17.2% at similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), higher than at nearly all of them. Another measure points the same way: 44.4% went to majority-minority neighborhoods, against 9.2%. Yet only 19.3% of its borrowers had LMI incomes, lower than at four in five peers, so it lends in poorer areas without lending mainly to poorer households.
