Refinancing, not buying
Refinances made up 83.1% of its loans and home purchases 15.6%. Its typical loan was $75,000, smaller than the $95,000 at similar lenders, credit unions making between half and twice as many loans. Every loan was conventional, with no government backing, as at most of its peers. Small loans fit a book built on refinancing rather than on buying homes.
