Pioneer Bank, of Mapleton, is the second-largest home lender in Mankato, Minnesota, and it gained ground there in 2025.
It ranked 2 of 180 lenders in Mankato, with 6.9% of the market, up from 6.0% a year earlier. Only United Wholesale Mortgage lent more there. Elsewhere it is a minor presence: it ranked 115 of 276 in Rochester and 353 of 688 in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The filings of Nicollet County Bank, which it absorbed in 2019, count in these market figures.
Its loans rose 11%, to 102, against 8% at the middle of similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans) and 10% for the whole market. Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 35.7% of its loans, against 27.1% at the middle of its peers, more than at about four in five of them. Its share in LMI neighborhoods nearly doubled in five years, from 8.5% to 15.7%, though still below the peer figure of 18.2%.
