Pacific Premier Bank makes few home loans for its size, but they are very large: its typical loan in 2025 was $2.1 million.
The bank made 66 loans worth $188.2 million. Similar lenders, national banks making between half and twice as many loans, lent a typical $19.6 million in all, with a typical loan of $175,000. Half its loans were jumbo (larger than the conforming limit), against 3.1% at similar lenders.
Refinancing made up 74.2% of its loans and purchases 24.2%. It also bought 33 loans from other lenders, down from 97 a year earlier, where the typical similar lender bought none. Its typical rate, 5.90%, was lower than at almost nine in ten similar lenders.
Some 58.7% of its loans were in low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods, against 16.1% at similar lenders, and 71.2% were in majority-minority neighborhoods, against 7.7%. None went to LMI borrowers. Loans of this size may go to borrowers whose income is not reported as a household's, which could account for that.
Its loans rose 61% in 2025, from 41, against 3% at similar lenders. That is still far below the 718 it made in 2021, the year after it merged with Opus Bank, which may have added to that peak. Its biggest share gain came in Fresno, where it ranked 42 of 409 lenders with 0.5% of lending.
