Big loans, ordinary count
Similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) had a typical loan of $172,500; Montecito's was larger than all but about one in twenty of them, though its 82 loans matched their typical count. Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) made up 19.4% of its lending, against 1.6% at peers. So its loans came to $61.4 million, against $22.5 million at similar banks.
