Merit Bank first reported in 2025, with 60 loans centered on Huntsville, and its loans were larger than most similar banks' from the start.
Its first year on record put it 66th of 440 lenders in Huntsville, with a 0.3% share. United Wholesale Mortgage, Redstone Federal Credit Union and Rocket Mortgage lead that market. It also lent in non-metro Alabama and as far as Little Rock, across seven metros in three states.
