Martha's Vineyard Bank makes some of the largest loans among similar banks, and in 2025 its lending recovered by 32%, though it remains about a quarter of its 2020 size.

Low- and moderate-income borrowers took 6.2% of its loans, against 27.3% at peers, among the lowest twentieth. The size of its loans is one possible reason, since borrowers who carry loans of $645,000 tend to have higher incomes. Its share of loans in poorer neighborhoods, 16.2%, was near peers' 18.3%.
