Our analysis, 2025
Lakeview Bank, a small Minnesota state bank, lends mainly to home buyers and makes more of its loans to modest earners and in poorer neighborhoods than most similar banks.
Home purchases made up 81.0% of its loans in 2025, and every loan was conventional. Its typical loan, $175,000, was close to the $165,000 at similar lenders, state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans.
Borrowers with low or moderate incomes (LMI) took 36.4% of its loans, against 26.9% at similar banks, higher than about three in four of them. Poorer neighborhoods took 31.0%, against 18.6%. Majority-minority neighborhoods took 15.5%, against 6.5%, higher than about two-thirds of peers. On 58 loans a few loans move these shares, but all three were high in 2024 as well.
It made 58 loans, up 21%, while similar banks grew 8%. Its largest market is Minneapolis-St. Paul, where it ranked 199 of 688 lenders, with a very small share. It first lent in Mankato in 2025.
Established in 2004, the bank first reported in 2007. It filed no report from 2020 to 2022, when a bank making fewer than 100 closed-end loans a year need not report. Those are gaps in the record, not years without lending.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
