Community Bank of Pickens County, a Georgia bank, makes bigger loans than most of its peers and lends more often to poorer borrowers and neighborhoods.
Its typical loan was $255,000, against $165,000 at similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), higher than about three in four of them. Its 54 loans came to $23.2 million, up from $15.7 million on 56 loans in 2024. Purchases were 70.4% of the total, and every loan was conventional.
