City State Bank, an Iowa bank that has lent in Des Moines-West Des Moines since at least 1990, raised its loan count by 41% in 2025 and gained share there.
It made 103 loans in 2025, up from 73, while similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew by 9% and the whole market by 10%. Its growth was faster than more than four in five of them. It remains below the 177 loans of 2022, and filed no report for 2020 and 2021, which are gaps in the record.
