Alta Vista Credit Union, a California lender focused on home improvement, made most of its loans in majority-minority areas in 2025, and its lending rose 21%.
Some 65.7% of its loans were in majority-minority areas, against 8.9% at similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), higher than at more than nine in ten of them. Its largest market is Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA, and where it lends may explain the figure.
Its loans rose 21% to 70, against 7% at similar lenders. The amount lent rose to $17.2 million from $6.0 million as its typical loan grew to $140,000, larger than at about three in four similar lenders. It filed no HMDA report for 2020, 2021 or 2023, so those years are gaps in the record.
