PSB Bank, a Missouri community bank, made 25% more loans in 2025, faster growth than most similar banks, and most were to buy homes.
Its loans rose to 166 from 133, while similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) typically grew by 10%. Its growth was higher than at about seven in ten of them. The money it lent rose to $46.2 million from $30.5 million. The count is still below the 260 loans of 2021.
Purchases were 63.3% of its loans and refinances 27.1%. All its loans were conventional, and it made no jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit).
St. Louis is its largest market. It has lent there since at least 1990 and ranks 152 of 637, with a share unchanged at 0.1%. In Columbia, MO it ranks 42 of 268. It entered Hot Springs, AR in 2025. Filings of CBC Bank, which merged into it in 2020, count in these market figures.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 23.4% of its loans, down from 35.2% in 2024 and lower than at about six in ten similar lenders. Its larger loans this year and its focus on purchases are possible reasons. Its share in LMI neighborhoods was near the middle of its peers.
