Its share of Joplin lending rose from 3.0% to 3.9%, ranking it 5 of 219. Flat Branch Mortgage leads there, followed by Arvest Bank. It has lent in Joplin since 2003. In Springfield and its other markets its share is small.
It made 146 loans, up 22%, while similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) and the whole market both grew 10%. That was faster than about seven in ten of them. It is still well short of the 341 loans it made in 2020. Its typical loan rose to $185,000 from $125,000.
Home purchases made up 74.7% of its loans and refinancing 17.8%. Every loan was conventional; it made none backed by a government agency.
Poorer neighborhoods (low- and moderate-income, or LMI, tracts) took 27.4% of its loans, against 17.2% at similar lenders, more than at about three in four of them. LMI borrowers took only 14.3%, against 28.2%, among the lowest tenth. Its focus on purchases and its bigger loans in 2025 are possible reasons.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
