Paragon Bank is a Memphis home-purchase lender with bigger loans than most peers, and it lends more in majority-minority neighborhoods than about nine in ten of them.
Purchases made up 81.1% of its loans, all conventional. Its typical loan was $285,000, against $185,000 at similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans), higher than at about four in five of them.
