Generations Bank made 28% more loans in 2025, a faster rise than at more than four in five similar lenders, and it lends larger sums than most of them.
Generations Bank made 441 loans in 2025, up from 344. Similar lenders, state member banks making between half and twice as many loans, grew by 6%, and the whole market by 10%. The rise follows a low of 246 in 2023. The bank is still short of the 786 loans it made in 2020.
Its typical loan was $285,000, against $185,000 at similar lenders, larger than at about four in five of them. Every loan was conventional, with no government guarantee. Purchases made up 73.9% of its lending and refinancing 22.4%.
Majority-minority neighborhoods took 18.6% of its loans, against 7.0% at similar lenders. Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 19.1%, against 28.3%, a lower share than at most of its peers. Its larger loans and its focus on home purchases are possible reasons.
In Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, AR, where it has lent since 2003, its share rose; Arvest Bank leads the market. In 2025 it also made its first loans in non-metro Tennessee and non-metro Pennsylvania, where it is a minor player.
