Fewer loans each year
Originations fell from 264 to 234, a larger fall than at nearly nine in ten similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans). The whole market grew 10%. Its count peaked at 627 in 2021 and has fallen every year since. A choice to lend less, or weaker demand in its 12 counties, could explain it; the figures do not show which.
