Fairmont Federal Credit Union made 48% more loans in 2025, growing faster than more than four in five similar credit unions, and won share in Morgantown.
It made 207 loans, up from 140 in 2024. Similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans) grew 7% and the whole market 10%. Its dollar volume nearly doubled, to $35.8 million from $18.3 million. It is still short of the 292 loans it made in 2020.

Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 14.9% of its loans and LMI neighborhoods 7.7%, both among the lowest tenth of similar lenders. It lends in five counties of one state, which may hold few such neighborhoods. Its larger typical loan, $145,000 against $105,000 at its peers, may also mean fewer LMI borrowers.
