Education Credit Union, of Amarillo, Texas, is almost entirely a refinance lender, and in 2025 it won a larger slice of its home market.
Refinances made up 83.4% of its loans and purchases the rest, 16.6%. All were conventional. Its typical loan, $95,000, was a little smaller than the $105,000 at similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans).
