Cfsbank made 74% more loans in 2025 than in 2024, faster growth than at nearly all similar lenders, and it climbed to 31 of 571 in Pittsburgh.
It made 341 loans, up from 196, while similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans) grew 4%. The jump returns it to an earlier level: it made 345 loans in 2022 before falling to 138 in 2023. Its loan dollars rose from $42.0 million to $91.0 million.
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up 6.7% of its lending. Loans guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service (RHS) took 3.8%, and those guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 1.2%. The typical similar lender made none. In 2020 all its loans were conventional.
Borrowers with low or moderate incomes took 34.5% of its loans, against 24.1% at similar lenders, higher than at about nine in ten. In 2020 the share was 17.0%. Its government-backed lending may be part of the reason.
In Pittsburgh, where it has lent since at least 1990, its share rose from 0.4% to 0.7%. PNC Bank leads the market.
