BankSouth, a Georgia savings institution, makes bigger loans than most similar lenders, and 17.1% of them are jumbo.
Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) were 17.1% of its lending, against 2.6% at similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans), more than at about nine in ten of them. Its typical loan was $255,000, down from $395,000 in 2024. Its loans came to $88.9 million, more than at about three-quarters of its peers.

In Athens-Clarke County it ranks 26 of 316, and its share rose 0.2 points to 0.9%. It also bought 18 loans; the typical similar lender bought none.
