Modest incomes, few poorer neighborhoods
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 32.3% of its loans, against 28.1% at similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), more than at over two-thirds of them. Yet only 3.9% were in LMI neighborhoods, against 17.0%, among the lowest of its peers. That may reflect where it lends, mainly non-metro Iowa, rather than whom it lends to.
