Our analysis, 2025
Alliance Bank, a Missouri community bank, grew its lending by a quarter in 2025 and gained ground in Cape Girardeau, where it is now the seventh-largest lender.
In Cape Girardeau it ranked 7 of 157 lenders. Its share rose 1.0 points, to 4.0% from 3.0%, in step with its own rise in loans. First State Community Bank leads the market, followed by DAS Acquisition Company.
It made 125 loans, up 26% from 99. Similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew by 9%, and the whole market by 10%. That put it ahead of about three in four. The rise follows a slide from 398 loans in 2021 to 99 in 2024.
Purchases made up 62.4% of its lending and refinances 33.6%. Every loan was conventional, with no jumbo or manufactured-home loans; similar banks made 3.1% of theirs on manufactured homes. Its typical loan, $165,000, was close to peers' $175,000.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 27.9% of its loans, near the middle of similar banks. Its share in LMI neighborhoods was lower, 12.8% against 17.6%. In areas where most residents belong to minority groups it was higher, 11.2% against 5.9%. With 125 loans across 12 counties, a handful of loans can move these shares, and the counties it serves may set much of the pattern.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
