The Honesdale National Bank is a northeastern Pennsylvania lender whose loans rose 34% in 2025 and whose share of the Scranton--Wilkes-Barre market doubled to 3.0%.

Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 17.8% of its loans, against 26.0% at similar lenders, and LMI areas 9.6%, against 15.6%. Majority-minority areas took 1.7%, against 7.7%. One possible reason is where it lends: 15 counties in two states, in non-metro Pennsylvania and around Scranton, which may hold fewer such areas than the markets of similar banks.
