A sharp fall in loan count, a smaller fall in dollars
Originations fell 45% to 829, against growth of 10% at similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) and in the whole market; only about one in a hundred peers fell further. Dollar volume fell less, from $833.8 million to $662.8 million. One possibility is fewer of its smaller home-improvement and other-purpose loans, which still made up about a third of its lending; the figures here do not show the cause.
