California Credit Union is a California lender of home-improvement and larger-than-typical loans whose originations grew 31% in 2025, about four times the 8% of similar credit unions.
Originations rose 31% to 1,409, faster than about nine in ten similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), whose typical growth was 8%, and faster than the whole market's 10%. The count is still below the 2,113 of five years before. Home improvement was its largest purpose at 39.8%, ahead of purchase at 26.3% and refinance at 22.4%.

Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 10.5% of its loans, against 27.1% at peers, among the lowest twentieth. Its larger loans and jumbo share may reflect a borrower base with higher incomes, one possible reason. Its share in LMI areas, 13.2%, was closer to peers' 14.9%.
It ranked 20 of 639 lenders in San Diego-Chula Vista-Carlsbad, with 0.9% of lending, up from 0.7%; it has lent there since 1993. Its share in Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario rose to 0.2% from 0.1%. Its purchase and refinance denial rates, 3.0% and 7.0%, were lower than peers' 6.2% and 22.7%.
