CNB Bank grew 21% in 2025, far faster than similar state member banks at 3%, and its share of State College lending rose to 5.8%.
Originations rose 21% to 2,029, faster than more than four in five similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans), while the whole market grew 10%. Lending by value rose from $356.9 million to $612.7 million. It merged with ESSA Bank & Trust in 2025; that may have helped, though merged filings count in its competition figures, not its own originations.
Its share rose 4.3 points to 5.8% in State College, where it ranked 4 of 192, and 0.4 points to 0.8% in Cleveland, where it ranked 26 of 577. Counting ESSA's filings in the competition figures may account for part of these gains. It ranked 7 of 643 in non-metro Pennsylvania.
Every loan was conventional, against 96.8% at peers, with no FHA or VA lending. Its typical loan, $125,000, was smaller than peers' $205,000. It bought 51 loans, when the typical similar bank bought none, and manufactured homes were 3.7% of its loans, against 0.7%.
LMI (low- and moderate-income) borrowers took 22.7% of its loans, against 26.5% at peers, and LMI areas 12.7%, against 15.0%. Its weight in non-metro Pennsylvania is one possible reason.
